These grandparents need to be told to knock it off. As the parent, you have the finally say so of what is and isn't allowed when it comes to your kids. If the grandparents get upset, then so be it, they can get over it. They'll know where you stand on this and that certain things you will not tolerate. You don't have to be rude when talking to them, just be gentle yet very firm.

Just ask them. Please don't spoil my kids and thats it. But you cannot really prevent it. It is the sole right of grandparents. Or maybe that is what they are made of and for. You should even be thankful if they love your kids. I am a grandparent too. And I am always happy with my grandchildren But I have seen grandparents who do not care about their grand children and even abused them. Be happy.

This is what grandparents live for....spoil them rotten and then send them home with mom and dad full of sugar and bad manners. My mother use to do this on purpose. One christmas she bought all of her 15 grandchildren, the noisiest toys she could find and even supplied the batteries. When we asked why, she said it was payback for all we put her through in our teen years. Trust me, they know what they are doing...you don't remember getting chocolate in church when you were little do you? I didn't think so. I'd let them spoil them to a degree, but insist that the candy is having bad health affects on them...then deem grandma and grandpa's house as romper room to your children. It's sort of like the inside/outside voice routine. It's ok at grandma and grandpa's house, but it's not ok here.

We hve every right. Sometimes we don't just gotta tell them grandparents that we don't want the kids spoilt. We gotta tell the kids to. So they don't just accept everything given to them cos they know momma's not gonna be very pleased if they do.

You can't. One right of the grandparent is to spoil the kids. You're stepping on toes here, especially if they're inlaws.
