i am overweight girl 22 years and i love going to the beach to get a tan and swim. some of my friends say i should not wear bikini and some say i should what are yours opinion on that?

You say you like tanning, so you would want to wear a bikini. Unfortunately, society is a ***** about looks, so many might look down at you for being over weight. In turn you'll feel unconscious. I'd suggest wearing something 'decent' maybe a one piece when in public, and swim in a private pool or something. Tan privately too. I don't mean to sound selfish with this either, and if you dont have any private place to go, and you don't feel self conscious about wearing a bikini, then go ahead and wear what YOU want. It's what you feel, and what you think its comfortable. Don't go by what others think really, but I'm just suggesting.

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. But, if your friends don't want to go to the beach with you if you wear a bikini, have a back up suit to wear when you're with them.
The way I look at it is if I was at the beach and someone took their top off and I felt uncomfortable-- I wouldn't want to go to the beach again with that person. She'd lose me as a beach buddy.
Sometimes too much skin attracts the wrong attention. Be considerate of your friends feelings.

Babe if u are happy wearing a bikini on the beach in order to get a Sun Tan by all means do it.......... by all means wear nothing if u feel happy doing that too.
Myself being al lover of the larger ladies, I have no problems seeing a bit more flesh on the beaches. Ignore what your friends say, it may be the fact their scared their own reputation will go down for you doing it............. they aren't friends...... their back-stabbers....
I think you should go to the beach naked just once, and see what they say then.

Whether you like it or not, people will stare at you if you are significantly overweight and you appear in public in a bikini. If you don't mind this, then go for it! It is all up to you! I personally won't allow myself to be seen in public in a bikini, and I am (technically) only about 10-15 lbs. overweight. That is my own idiosyncrasy; just do what you're comfortable with!

You're taking some big risks with the bikini, Miss Blubba. You better go with something that covers a lot more area and is made out of harpoon-proof material. The color is optional, but pink would be nice.

Omg!! Some people are SOOO mean. Its YOUR body. If you want to wear a bikini, go for it!! I would never wear one because I'm self conscious but if you love your body, why the heck not!!!
Besides, tanning in a one piece is completely useless!!!

Depends on what part of the world you are in. In the USA I would say no. In Europe where no body cares-- I have seen large women wear bikini bottoms and no tops here so I guess whatever you are comfortable with.

Is this a joke? Wear something to make yourself feel comfortable. A bikini could not possibly make you comfortable, it will embarass you and everyone around you. It is cool to be okay with yourself being fat, but it is NOT cool to make everyone feel uncomfortable,

Do what feels comfortable for you. Why not?? Why should all the skinny girls get to show their a$$, and not the overweight ones? Who says you can't? Life is short, so live it. =0)
