I saw Lady in the Water and I thought it was very unique, creative, moral, and beautifully filmed. Why does everyone say negative things about him when he is obviously a brilliant film-maker? So he doesn't include sex and violence in his films like everyone else.. his films are very different from the norm and fantastic. What do you think of his work?

he's brilliant...he's disliked because all his films have something hidden...something that tells what many people dont like to hear...

If you have seen unbreakable...theres this white guy whose bones can never break ...and theres this black guy whose bones are so brittle ...do ya get the hidden meanings?!

He is an intellectual...all his films are rhetorics of some sort...if you think too hard on his films theres a lot to read in em...

signs for instance was about faith and fear....(faith out of fear)...where aliens in the movie are symbolically used as an expression of human fear...

The Village by far was I think his best work...it has several dimensions...beyond the horizon thinking!

his works are very artistic and political in nature...he expresses his ideas very creatively & cleverly...

he's not gettin the recognition he deserves simply because of his asian origin...if the same films were made by a white, hollywood would have been raving about it! sad but true...

but he's admired by the best...I have read some really good reviews on him by Spielberg and Geroge Lucas...and a host of others...

He'll leave a mark for sure...he has the quality...

I agree with you. His films are definitely unique and creative. I just saw lady in the water too. I felt like the movie had a good message: No one can ever tell you what your purpose is in life based on your idiosyncrasies.

I must admit it was funny when the guy stuttered lol.

Nice Question

I kind of liked all of Shyamalan's films except the last one. It's unique. Lady In the Water. If you were observant, you'd have seen those microphones hanging on top of their heads.

I saw Signs, Unbreakable, Sixth Sense, and the Village. They all kept me on the edge oif my seat. I loved them. They weren't gory and bloody. But they did make you jump. The endings were always a twist.
Also, I liked the final episode he did for the TV show CSI.

He is a phenomonal directer! Other's critisize him in negative ways because his work is to unique and as you said beautifly done for them to appreciate. He's got great work, and is one of my favorite directors off all time.

I like his slant on things. Some of his work is rather fairy tale-ish but it's good that he is out there for the consumer.

I think they are pretty original, and cool cause he isn't just going back and remaking old movies that people have already seen.
