There are a number of companies online that offer to remove blemishes on your credit but ultimately its all smoke and mirrors. A Bank is going to find out your entire credit history and your income which is just as important.

I suggest if your credit is below 650, you try and buy a USED CAR for about $25,000.
All you gotta do is make the regular payments ON TIME and keep the rest of your debts paid up on time and your credit will gradually improve over 2 years. After 2 years, the late's on your credit report will mostly be neglidegable or dissapear by themselves and your fico scores will be higher.

Most people who need to improve their credit do so in this way.

You might check out the site I've listed. Do some reading in the newbie forum and then in the credit forum.

It is a free do it yourself credit repair site. All of the information on there is free to read and use.

As far as calling or going places, never - ever call a collection agency or the original creditor when you are dealing with a bad account. And, the only place you will have to go is to the post office to mail your letters.

Obtain a copy of your report from the Big Three credit reporting agencies, then write letters protesting the bad credit reported therein. If they are legitimate pay them in full then protest them. Any that do not respond timely will be purged as required by law. You may gave to get onto the reporting agency a few times but it is well worth it.
