i just bought a new pc and would like to make sure that what was written in the brochure matches the hardware...

pls recommend a simple program so that i can check the specs of the computer before i bring back home....

probably best if i can install it from pen drive so that i can read the specs at the shop..

A quick way of doing this in Windows is by going to Start>Run and then typing in dxdiag

This will tell you a lot, just don't edit anything, lol. You can see the display information (video card info), sound (sound card) and more.

Hope that helps!

Everest Home: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html

Sandra Lite: http://www.download.com/3000-2086-10018691.html

CPUZ: http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

Cpuz is the most simple for most people, Everest Home is very nice also and simple to read, Sandra Lite may take a little getting use to but a fine program. All programs above are free downloads, Good Luck

If the PC is at running condition at shop then there are 2 utilities on PC itself to check the comfiguration of ur PC.

1. Right click on My Computer Icon at Desktop and System Properties will show you the details of RAM and Processor.

2. for detailed information about system configuration at

Start-->run type msinfo32.exe it will bring you the system information dialog and you can see all of ur configuration

similarly for all device installed in your PC you can check the device manager

Start-->run type devmgmt.msc it will bring device manager to you. all device status are there.

accept that u can use tweakXp software for know about all system resources and modify them for ease in performance.

Try Astra32 - google and download it, there is a free version.

Belarc - google and download (also free) for a software spec list.
