Moving away now is not an option. So, I have to choose between colleges that are within driving distance of my home.
Any suggestions on which is the best fashion school around south florida?

I am a graduate of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA for media arts.
Every single one of my friends who graduated from that college in different majors including fashion says "The art institute sucks" and it does!
I had 108 college credits and not ONE of them transferred into a state university here in texas. Yes that is right, I was lied to from my advisor saying my credits will transfer. In addition to this, my advisor told me that they would help me get a job when I graduated. Guess what?
I graduated in 2000 and when I asked for help for finding a job, the advisor told me" Look in the yellow pages and cold call".
Needless to say I found a job on my own without their help.
The people in that college are unprofessional and I seriously think you should look going to another state.
The best fashion design college I have visited was in San Francisco, CA. Look it up in a search engine.
If you absolutely must go to AI FL, then you better ask questions to the advisor and get everything explained on paper. Not one of the people that graduated from that college has told me anything positive. I had to take all the classes I took from AI FL all over again at a state college. What a waste of my time and money!

I recommend International Fine Arts College in Miami or AIU. It's not a good idea to go to an Institute. College or University looks better on your resume.

AIU is a great school, I will recommend that one, art institute is not really fashion but more art and music.
