DON'T go for a walk in the forest or on a field. Only walk on pavements or paths that people obviously still use today. There is still a lot of landmines in the ground in Bosnia & Herzegovina, so be careful. I don't know how it is in Banja Luka, you better ask the locals there to be sure, but in many places in Bosnia & Herzegovina you have to be careful about landmines. Useful knowledge is to know that "PAZI MINE" means "caution, mines".

Bosnia & Herzegovina is a really beautiful country with amazing nature, but a sad past. I'm sure you'll see a lot of interesting things there. If you plan to travel around the country a bit I recommend visiting Sarajevo and Mostar.

Bosnians are generally really nice people. Be aware of the fact though that Bosnians and Bosnian Serbs aren't exactly best friends. For example some Bosnians might not be too helpful if you ask them how to get to a Serbian territory and vice versa.

Enjoy your stay in B&H!

Bosnia and Herzegovina is split into 2 "political entities", one being Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (capital Sarajevo) and the different being Republika Srpska (capital Banja Luka). even with the fact that it incredibly is one usa, the two states get to regulate it incredibly is own government, president, parliament, police, and submit. it incredibly is been divided after the Dayton settlement, in maximum cases alongside the former frontlines from the conflict. each and each state takes up some million/2 of the excellent land section. there isn't any genuine border however, human beings can come and circulate between the two states freely. RS has a majority of ethnic Serbs and a minority of ethnic Croats and Bosniaks. FBiH has majority Bosniaks with minorities of Croats and Serbs.

Just relax. Bosnia, all in all, has beautiful nature and the people are friendly. It is also a mixture of different cultures. There are interesting places to visit, but you can ask the locals where to go. You will meet sb in 2 months. However, I agree with the suggestions of Mostar and Sarajevo.
