HONESTY IS VERY IMPORTANT IN A FRIENDSHIP AND I DON'T THINK THAT TALKING ABOUT YOU BEHIND YOUR BACK TO COVER UP YOUR FRIENDSHIP IS BEING HONEST.
How will you be able to trust a friend that you already know talks about you behind your back? It doesn't sound much like a true friend to me. On the other hand, if you could take it slowly and start out with some new guidelines you might be able to make it work. I would definately pay attention to any talking behind your back. You can't be very happy with someone who is ashamed of the time you spend together. Take your time and think it through. You might even want to make a list of good points and bad points just to help yourself get a clear picture of the situation., Good luck

Personally, I believe you should. Your friend is human. everyone makes mistakes wether its a minor mistake or a major mistake. You could confront this person that is your friend and try to ask why they are covering up the fact you two are friends. But, If that person is ashamed of you then you can always find more friends that love you for you. Remember no matter what someone does to you, you can dislike them, but respect them as a human.

Absolutely not, true friends wouldn't care who knew you were friends. They also wouldn't be back stabbing and talk about you behind your back and then kiss up to your face.

my suggestion is to stop being friends with people like that its kinda the only thing u can do if that person is the only friend talk and spill your feelings about that

no dump your "friend" if they do that whats the point? As soon as they find someone more "acceptable" to them they will dump you
