A lot of the best cartoons today are just extended versions from the 70's. The dialogue, however, does bug me a bit (something I obviously didn't realize growing up in the 70's), but I'd honestly have to say that the dialogue in today's cartoons are realistic.

Scooby Doo is my fav cartoon but the only one I really love from the older decades so I don't know...

50's and 60's.
but if you consider south park a cartoon, that's pretty cutting edge, as bugs bunny was (somewhat) in his day.
