I do not hate either. I have been to both countries and have found the people to be very nice.
The French (government) seem to take the other side in any disputes we have with other nations. They appear not to like us.
Canada just gets lost as an entity in North America and I think it ticks them off. They live right above us but I have never seen a Canadian TV show or anything exported from them that makes the US better. Our relationship is pretty one sided. But I like THEM!

The French have always said that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction. Americans said they do. The French were right and it's the start of the hate relationship between the two.
Canadians doesn't hate Americans and vise versa. We're neighbors and biggest trading partner.

I haven't a clue. It's funny- really, because we're SO much alike! Maybe it's just a matter of Nationalism- every country thinks it alittle bit "superior" to all the others- when it's really just alot of bunk. The BEST place in the world to live- is wherever you're happy. I bet there are families on each side of the Israeli/Lebonese border right now- who would be the happiest on Earth- if only the missiles would stop raining down upon them from the other country. This is why hate- is so stupid. And why NO-ONE should hate anyone else. It accomplishes- nothing; & destroys much.

ONLY Fox News hates the French because the French were RIGHT about Iraq and Fox's "Freedom Fry Promotion" (slash PROTEST) went down the tubes ... It was a promotion against the French using OUR FRIES as a political pawn (name game) initially imposed by Fox after France refused to Push The UN to allow G.W. Bush to go to WAR with Iraq over some imaginary WMD that Saddam was supposed to have there.
As for me, I like the French. I like Canadians too! But I got'a admit, I'm still a little miffed at Fox News for holding my Fries Hostage!
Now, pass the damn Katsup!

The problem began with Charles de Gaulle, as after WW II he became anti-American and it never changed through the various presidents...we were a gauche...uncivilized, etc. It continued through various problems when we were refused over-fly permission by France and had to detour around via Spain. France hasn't supported many international issues because of American involvement. The French like American money but remain aloof as they have do in Quebec...they speak English only to make sales, not for friendship...As the use of the French language decreases, and French culture remains status quo...they should strive to remain in good stead with EU

Do they? How come any single American hates the French? How ungrateful. With out France's bullions, weapons, navy fleet and a full arms army under Lafayette, those all taken for granted, there will be no United State of America but British North America my friend.

I can't speak for the rest of the USA but, I hate the French for STABBING us in the back in Iraq. I would have been willing to give France a BYE if they did what they did for MORAL reason that being they simply opposed the war. However that's not why the stabbed us they did it because they were on SADDAM's Payroll so they did it for PROFIT. We have NO NEED for allies like that. As for why they hate us My Guess JEALOUSY. We are the Super Power they only wish they could be.

I don't hate Canada.
I like Canada a lot.
I must admit I've seen no reason to visit the French part.
(I don't hate French people, but the splintered government they have makes it come across monolithically as disloyal. I don't like it.)
Oooh, and look at Ash's response, above. Typically French. That is the kind of thing we don't like.

I don't know. I'm French-Canadian so I find it stupid.
Probably because France and Canada have more culture and class in their pinkies then their critics entire bodies. Simple jealously, homophobia, or machoism because people think a country who doesn't start wars is a gay pu$$y country.
