No question in a second especial for a dog because they are even more vulnerable to the heat

From personal experience (A friend got locked out of her car) I've discovered that car windows are too hard for me to break. Instead, I would call the police for the baby. I might call animal control or something for the puppy. I'm not sure what the laws are on having a dog in the car.

Depends if I can't get something down the door to pop the lock or pry the window back from the a-pillar. I wouldn't want the glass that blasts in (and they do blast in) to cut the baby (or dog). But failing that, I'd whack the window.

yes- and it is illegal to keep a baby / pet locked in a car - even if the car has a/c be aware that if the car stalls it will heat up qucikly enough to be deadly hot inside always take your baby (human or not) inside with you - and on that note some locksmiths offer free service to people with elderly / children locked in a car but it will be too late on a hot day

Been there, done that. And the person who locked their husky in their car on a 90 degree day got brought up on animal cruelty charges.I broke the window, and my boss called the cops. She ended up adopting the dog.

Dogs and babies are not the same. Would save a human life, less concerned for the pet.

In a heartbeat. I'd smash first, call 911 second. Hopefully the heartless parent (or fur-parent) will then be safely behind bars. They would need to be there for their own protection!

I think yes... But first look for the ownder, and call the police, so I do not get into trouble... I am not very familiar with US laws, but it should be a crime to leave any living thing like that!

Absolutely! Anyone left in a hot car should be saved--and the person who left them needs to be jailed (or left in the car themselves...).

You bet I would ! I already broke one once without wanting it, so if it's to save a life, I wouldn't hesitate a second
