I screwed around on dirtbikes when I was in high school and have been wanting to buy one to ride on weekends. I want something with some power, but don't need the most powerful bike out there. I want something that's low maintenance and inexpensive but high quality and from a reputable manufacturer. If you could recommend a good bike for me, I would be greatly appreciative. Any other tips you want to lend someone like me would also be appreciated.

It kind of depends upon a few different factors, but honestly I would reccomend a few different bikes. Because you mentioned you're a beginer I would stay with a 4-stroke. They are huge confidence boosters, and since you mentioned low maintanence that would be the best option too. The best bikes I have had the pleasure to ride and work on have been the newer Yamaha, and Honda. The Yamaha motor is 'bulletproof' as I have experienced and heard and read from many people. Depending upon how much power you want or what kind of riding you want to do I would say go with either the YZ250F, or YZ450F, they make older models back to '98 like the YZ400F, and YZ426F. They '02 426F has a gnarly hit however. Otherwise I would say go with the Honda CRF450, or CRF250, both awesome bikes as well and come apart and go together very well and I love these bikes for that and I think its almost riding on a couch the suspension is so good on these bikes. The only thing I'd say maintanencewise with these two makes is that the Honda will require a little more maintanence but not much more. By the way these are full on racing machines that can be ridden on trails with just as much ease. 4-strokes have made a come back and are now the motor of choice.

Kawasoki, Yamaha, Honda. I like the 4 stroke engines b/c it's gas in the tank and oil in the motor. It can be fast, depending on size, but not a racing bike. A 2 stroke more of a racing motor. It requires you mix gas and oil in the tank. You also can't idel for very long or it overheats and must be revved constantly because it doesn't idel itself.

well im stuck with yamaha. i love them. well if your just gonna ridde weekend i would suggest a wr250f or a wr450f which are both 4 strokes so you dont have to premix the gas.
these bikes have headligghts so when your offroad it will help at night.
although im attached to yamaha honda puts the most money into bike researrch. they pour twice as much money into it than the next leading manufacture.
i hope i was a help if you need help email me and ill help you out the best i can

It relies upon on what lies previous that mountain. each and every step will lead you previous that mountain, yet then all of it shouldn't go in ineffective. Its no longer continually that the toughest of annoying circumstances can supply the final of outcomes. you are able to comprehend what lies at the back of that mountain, and purely climb if its properly worth it. playstation : no longer continually must you climb the mountains; sometimes its good to apply the valleys.
