Awake and Dreaming by Kit Pearson - its just so sad how she lived her life on the street with her mom and the money she earned by dancing her mom just took and spend on shoes and clothes and how her mother abandond her, and how much she wished the dream of that perfect family to stay with her, and i just think this book is amazing it made me cry at the end several times.
Read it you'll find it in the library but don't buy it and waste your money if you don't like it.

The Cathcher In the Rye by JD Salinger. If you read it at the right age (mature 12-14) it prepares you for the so called real world. Its about a boy realizing the grown ups are clueless, too. To present themselves differently, they have to sell out to the "real world" myth. On second thought, maybe its not the BEST Ive ever read, but the one that made the most impact on who I wanted to be. I wanted to stay true to the 12 year old girl I was.

Inspiring, lots of insights into life. I've taken something different from it after reading at various stages in my life. Can't say that about many other books.

you're gonna think i'm crazy, but i've read hundreds of books and nothing has touched me more than when i was in grade school and read "Charlotte's web"
what a great story about friendship, love and sacrifice. i still get emotional just thinking about it. such a simple story, that said so much.

Moby Dick. Such a strong story about the evil of revenge. I could really see how his lust for the white whale consumed the Captain and took over his life. It was a great lesson.
