*1/5 of it's total members are dead (Long live Syddo!)
*4/5 have not been in the band from it's start to it's last concert
*It's last "Floyd only" concert was in the early 90's.

BUT

*They reunited (Sans-Syd) to play at 2005's Live Aid.
*Nick Mason (Drummer) Recently published a book, Inside Out *(Recommended reading)
*Almost every teen has heard the song Another Brick in the Wall pt. 2. (Sadly, 50% of these believe it is called We Don't Need No Education)
*Their albums will be well remembered.
*Korn recently did a (IMHO, horrible) cover of Another Brick in the Wall (1-3)
*Dark Side of the Moon t-shirts are for (over)sale in Hot Topic (or so I'm told...)

AND THE CLINCHER:
*A 13 year old knows all this without any referencing anything.

No it has not and it never will. Pink Floyd is one of the greatest bands in the history of music. Unlike all the bands that are popular right now, Pink Floyd will always be popular. All those new rock bands that people listen right now will die out soon and other bands will emerge, but Pink Floyd is a band that has always been popular and will always be popular.

Technicaly, Floyd lives on everytime someone new is turnd on to them. The Gilmore version of Floyd seems to have lost most of his audience, but they're still good for a live show, if you can convince them to hit the road again. Gilmore and Waters did actually put on a one night show in England some months back, but have made no mention of quelling their differences. You can catch Roger Waters on tour theses days. The way I understand it, He's gonna put on a 4 hour show, doing a list of Pink Floyd classics for the first 2 hours, and then........ He's gonna play the Dark Side in its entirety for the last half. ( My timing on that may be off... Dark Side of the Moon ain't THAT long ) I know I'll be at Cricket Pavillion in Phoenix, az to catch that one. I actually heard Waters is recording another album too.

When a band reaches legendary status like they have, it never dies out.
Pink Floyd will NEVER die out.
What a stupid question. The band has actually been gaining momentum with teenagers, and I know several (including myself) who are absolutely obsessed with the band and own all the albums and t-shirts and such.

Pink Floyd IS my favorite band.

Never! You can still see Roger Walters in concert, but his shows are rare. I saw him in 2001 and it was awesome! One of the best shows I have ever seen! He is the only one that tours still and he owes all their music. Pink Floyd will always rock! And still gain more fans every year.
