I don't believe eating at night before bedtime hurts anyone unless they are overweight, have reflux, or are stimulated by the digestion process and can't sleep because of it. I think most kids up through 25 can eat at night, but many people older than that don't do well. It's not considered a good healthy habit for people over 30 to eat late because our digestion systems don't do well with us lying down. Here's part of a web site I found for you:

Q. Does it really matter what time of the day that you consume calories? Is it really bad to eat right before you go to bed and if so how soon before you go to sleep should you stop eating?

A. If you eat before going to bed and go to sleep you aren't burning off those calories in an efficient manner. It's best to invert your meals from the norm, in other words, eat your bigger meal in the morning for b'fast, have a normal lunch, and a lighter dinner, if possible. Or, if you can, try to have your last meal of the day at 6 p.m. or so, depending on what time you go to bed. If you go to bed on a full stomach you will also have trouble sleeping as your body is working to digest and it will keep you from falling fast asleep

Some people will tell you yes, and I will agree, that it may be marginally worse, because after you go to sleep, your metabolism slows down. But it really just boils down to calories in versus calories out. If you are taking in more calories than you are burning, it doesn't matter when you eat them, you're going to gain weight. If you expend more calories than you take in, you're going to lose weight. If your calorie intake and output are roughly the same, you won't lose or gain.

No, it's long been proven that it doesn't matter when you eat. Calories are calories, regardless of what time you eat them. You ingest a certain amount in 24 hours, and you burn a certain amount in 24 hours, regardless. Here's an excellent article on research done on this subject, read for yourself:

Only if gaining weight will be unhealthy for you, as your body only burns a few calories while sleeping. Other than that, I dont' think there is anything wrong with it. Though it might not necessarily be easy on your digestive tract.

yes because the food doesn't get as good of a chance to digest while you are sleeping. That's why they say don't nap after a meal because even staying awake if your not doing anything can burn the fat.
