Why do black people think acting ghetto is cute?

Why do white people try to use black slang when they were raised in the suburbs?

Why do mexicans think little lights on their cars are cool?

Oh Lord! LOL!! You guys are wack....so wack.

I can't even keep it real and you anal, uptight clowns start attacking me for "stereotyping" and "being judgemental" etc.

You are all a bunch of whiny, fearful, overly-sensitive losers. Not even the black guys came back with any good answers...they sounded like they were about to cry too.

Why are you punks afraid to talk about race.

I bet most of you that attacked me for being "ignorant" sit there and watch the Dave Chapelle show every week.

Grow a spine and some thicker skin. YOU are what's wrong with America.

But at least I got a couple of good answers.

I say it is because being counterculture and going against socially acceptable behavior is a symbol of coolness and individuality to prove to the "man" that he not the boss.

LOL! I don’t know how many teenagers have said to me, “I dress this way because I’m an individual with my own style.” Ha! That is nonsense because as soon as I turn around, I see 20 other people looking just like them.

Thanks to music videos, teens see this style and aspire to live the life of those with the hoes and the bling. Some of the girls aspire to be the video hoe. As these teens become adults, some never change out of this. Videos are the means that some find their so-called role models.

I think that what is at play in most of the instances you have mentioned is the need to be different, the fact that being bad has always been a sign of coolness, the need to appear tough, the need to drive ones parents’ crazy, and the need to be accepted. This is nothing new but what is sad is that the appearance of stupid has become so popular.

To all of the above questions. Its more or less who ppl are. Everyone acts their own way because they choose to act that way. And you can't group all black ppl together and all white folks and mexicans together either. Because I'm black and I'm far from acting ghetto all the time. I have education about myself and I talk properly. As for the white kids and the mexicans, they don't all deserve the same rap either. Some white folks talk the black ppl doesn't mean they all do and same with the mexicans, some like lights on their cars some don't. Just all in how ppl are.

First of all I'm black, I use to live in an area that wasn't so good but that never casued me to act ghetto just because of where I live. I act polite and respectable but I do have my moments but it's the way I was brought up rather than my surroundings that influence my attitude. There is no such thing as acting ghetto. You go live in the ghetto and you tell me what it's like and then you see people had to endure with that lifestyle for a long time which causes them to act that way.

I have noticed some of these things too! Be yourself! Now if you are white and it feels natural and right for whatever reasons to use black slang even though you were raised in the suburbs (perhaps all your life your friends have used it and you have grown up with it and it is natural -- then that is right and go on -- use it.) More power to you. But do something because it feels natural and good, not because you're trying to impress somebody! Basically--BE YOURSELF!

You might want to think and ask yourself, what race are you? Then go around asking other nationalities and other races what they have been thinking about your race for the past few hundred years.
Only then you will understand your race is not an exception itself.
people who sit down on a couch and get fat watching TV gives all sorts of stupid question.
People who travel the world knows the answers and respect why different races do different things.
If the world is made up only of your race, it will be dead boring. Same food, same entertainment, same accent, same language, etc.

I would thing the media is to blame for this in some sort. The wigger culture is just a different aspect of taking what was inherently black and making it into something that whites can understand and relate to. Similar to when whites took over rock and roll, and now with whites trying to take over rap. As far as #1 & #3. No idea.

Why are you stereotyping? Not all blacks, whites, or mexicans are the same. Leave things as they are and just deal with it. It isn't hurting you and if your that concerned about it, seems to me it's more of a personal matter.

I don't think anyone thinks acting ghetto is "cute". White people try to act black/urban cuz they think it's cool. They see it on MTV, etc... and they see all the bling, and think "I wish that was me". Little lights on cars are cool, dipstick. (and I'm not even Mexican).

Its hard for a white guy to understand anything about the ghetto first of all. We don't expect you to get it and you don't.

white people want to be cool so they emulate us.

Is your life so void of meaning you ask stupid questions about mexicans and their cars?

How about not all people of a certain race do anythng for starters and how about asking someone why they are doing a certain thing in a non judgemental way. Why do you like what you like? You just do right? My mom told me this once and it makes sense we cannot argue about taste. She also said peoples feelings are their own. So please do not worry why they think things are cute or cool worry about yourself. Why do you like a certain food or color? You just do. I cannot explain why I like blue. I just do. I cannot explain my favorite food. I just tastes good. I cannot explain why I like to wear a certain thing. Perhaps they just like to have lights like I like blue. They think it looks good like how when you choose a car you think it looks good or whatever. It just is.
