Yeah, what's worse if you are underage. Like the movie 8 Mile. I was 15 when I saw that movie for the first time. And my mom wanted to fast forward that scene with rapper Eminem and actress Brittany Murphy. At school, one of my friends who was a grade above me said the sex scene with them made her sick. Another scene was characters Jack and Rose in Titantic played by Leonardo Decaprio and Kate Winslet. I was 10 years old when I first saw that movie. I was like, okay. Some sex scenes aren't so bad, but others are like you're just waiting for it to be over with whether it's awkward because your parents are around or someone else that it could be awkward with. But there are more movies with those scenes that it could be awkward with as well.

My mom and I usually go "Ewwwwwww!" together! It's really funny because one or the other of us says, "Is this REALLY necessary?!" Or, we'll say, "Isn't the wallpaper pretty?" "Look at that lamp!" Sometimes I hit the MUTE button till that part is over. I don't think we feel embarrassed, just disgusted that a sex scene was written in to a movie that didn't need it. Once, we started watching a movie, and I noticed that blonde Kelly Preston was starring. She walked into an office, and a guy followed her. I said, "In about five minutes, she'll be taking off her clothes and lying on the desk." Sure enough, she started stripping, and we groaned in annoyance. I found something else to watch. I guess Mom and I are sympatico.

I hear you on that one hey!!!
Not so much with my parents, but every Thursday, my sister & I used to go to our grandmothers house to watch a move (movie night, highlight of her week!!) but everytime a sex scene would come on, or even just a long passionate kissing scene, she would hit the mute button or fast forward past the entire scene! It made my sister & I so uncomfortable because she made such a "scene" about it!!! Hahahahaha, poor old duck probably just thought she was sheilding us from the evil in the world!!!!!
Very awkward indeed, with dad more so than mum!!!!

Whenever embarrasing scene comes on, or is due to, artificial discussion usually begins on something entirely irrelevant, ie so what are you doing tomorrow then? or does anyone want a cup of tea? until the scene has gone away! So funny! We try to avoid films with potential for embarrassing scenes in favour of rom com types which are much more dealable.

That's one reason I hate watching TV with my parents, especially when it is something that is more sex related... Like Sex and the City... Come on, Ma, it is just a girls' movie! I guess it is hard time fore ya to move out :)
