Studying what? A little more detail is required to give a useful answer :)

Do a search in the obs and midwifery journals or if you are looking for morbidity/mortality data check the appropriate government health agency.

Good Luck

Placental abruption is when the placenta tears away from the wall of the uterus. I almost lost my son at 29 weeks due to this. If caught early enough bed rest sometimes will be required to give the baby extra time to develop their lungs or the mother can be given steroid injections to help speed up the baby's lung development.

Its a very scary thing. The blood you are supposed to lose after you have the baby (9 months worth of periods) is lost when the placenta tears. I was at 38 weeks when mine tore so we were okay with delivering however, I was hooked to every moniter to make sure I was not losing my son. After my son we delivered was when I was told what the severity of what happened was. I could have lost my son. I dont wish that on anyone.
