I was a junior in high school and we had just gotten out of basketball practice and on the way up the hill to the next class. Some kids were going to the gym we had just left and I'll never forget a friend told us President Kennedy had just been shot. We were just devastated. I attended the same school from grade 1-12, and it was a small rural school with all of us like brothers and sisters and many of us had daddies who were WW11 Vets. We were especially patriotic as our parents taught us to be respectful of things. Our daddys would have beaten our butts if we hadn't been, and we didn't grow up messed up. I remember the sadness cast over our school for weeks over John Kennedy being shot. I watched Jackie raise their two kids with interest over the years. Our nation was very upset and I hadn't seen anything impact our country like that till 9-11.

Seventh grade study hall. An announcement was made over the speakers and we were all sent home early. Since it was on a Friday, I, along with my family, spent the weekend and the following Monday watching the TV coverage of the event. Will never forget it.

The nation stopped in it's tracks. All parents came for thier kids and the school closed. All my relatives were congregating at my grandmother's house, arguing and crying.
The gloom was palpable everywhere you went.
a few months later, there came a group of lads from liverpool, who lifted the load for many.
There's no wonder how they got so famous. We wanted to be entertained.
We needed our attention directed elsewhere.

Was a twinkle in my Dad's eye.
Born in '64 i missed the Kennedy Execution.
Don't believe Oswald was lone gunman tho- that's for sure.
i've walked Dealy Plaza too many times, to believe there wasn't multiple snipers- whether Oswald knew or not ??

I was in 1st grade, we were sent home from school with no explanation, and when I got home, my mom was glued to the television... watching the events on TV.
