I actually believe it's something physical that he's not letting on. Except for the outing against KC, he's been absolutely dreadful since the end of June (0-6 with an ERA over 9). He's given up 24 HR's at this point in the season, 4 more than ALL of last year.
There are times when pitchers get a loss they don't deserve. Believe me, Buehrle earned the loss last night. The Sox had cut the Angels' lead to 3-2, but with two out in the 7th and the bases empty, he walked Salmon, gave up a single to Quinlan, walked Molina, then balked Salmon home (moving Quinlan and Molina up), and finally gave up a 2-run single to Figgins to nail the coffin shut. Supposedly the balk came from miscommunication between him and Konerko.
I don't know what the answer is with him, but he'd be slated to go Saturday vs. Detroit. Hopefully someone sits him down and either figures out what's physically ailing him or what's going on in his head, because the Sox are in danger of playing themselves out of the playoffs, and it's their pitching, their strong point in the title run last year, that's betraying them.

I was watching that game last night. And Mark was pitching pretty good until the bases loaded blunder. Worse yet, it all happened with 2 outs. I haven't read any post game interviews yet this morning, but I'm sure he was asked what happened. White Sox are in dire straits now. 10 games back of the Tigers and it's going to be a battle for the Wild Card. Certainly doesn't get any easier with the Yankees and Wang up next.

White Sox were just a one hit wonder. They will have to wait over 80 years for another World Series

It might just be a mental thing.
Take Rich Hill for instance. I know he's not nearly as good as Burehrle, but pitching for a victory was all mental for him.
Yogi Berra once said baseball is 90 percent mental and the other half physical.
So, I'm not sure, but it's a guess!
