There are lots of benefits. Many have already been answered here so I'll try to tell you some things that haven't been brought up yet. If you are heterosexual, it is likely that your boyfriend or girlfriend will get jealous if you check out other people. If you are homosexual, he or she will likely be checking them out with you. That makes for a much healthier relationship then getting jealous all the time. Also, if you are a homosexual and choose to live that lifestyle, you are part of a minority. This may seem like a bad thing, but the adversity that you encounter will build character. Character is important. It is not only a benefit to yourself but to others as well. Homosexuals and other minorities likely have a determination to change the world for the better. How can that be a bad thing?

1. You're not contributing to overpopulation.
2. Your very existence puts the lie to organized religion which tries to condemn homosexuality as a moral failure, when it is a fixed attribute, not a chosen "lifestyle." You can't be "guilty" of being who you are.
3. You can throw away the sports page, or use if for a cage liner, to catch bird poop.
4. It's ok for your belt to match your shoes.
5. You can show how open-minded you are by having straight friends.
6. You can see through phonies if you want to: it's like having x-ray vision.
7. You can love someone for the "right" reasons, rather than b/c of conformity.
8. Sex is, well, sex!
9. Greater emphasis on creativity.
10. God just likes gay people, as is evidenced by his making so many of them.
11. When the culture is so f****d up, it is a great advantage to be part of a counterculture.
12. You get to choose your own family.
13. You don't have to play by "the rules."
14. You don't just fall in love; you fall hopelessly in love!

Several people have mentioned a number of "advantages" of being homosexual.
I haven't really noticed any advantages. My life has been pretty much the same as my straight friends. Most of them have had more relationship troubles than I have had, but the struggles of life are the same.
It is true that I am not burdened with children to raise, support, and nurture, but straight people can prevent pregnancy and do not.
I think if I had to come up with one, I'd have to go with this:
Homosexuals are not to blame for the decline of traditional family values and the sanctity of marriage. We have watched heterosexuals wreck that without our help. It gives me great joy to know that when right-wingers scream and holler about how bad society is... while they blame everything on homos and liberals, it isn't really us. We had nothing at all to do with it. When I hear about TENS OF THOUSANDS of unwanted and unloved children in state run children's homes, I know gay people had nothing to do with it. When I hear about children being neglected, physically abused, and murdered in the news, it is almost NEVER a homosexual doing it. I know that when the divorce rate is above 50%, gay people aren't contributing even a little.
Those are the advantages I see in being a homosexual.

There are so many advantages of being gay.
#1: Being male you do not need to prove yourself to be macho and fall prey to unscrupulous women.
#2: Your house and money will be safe from a woman or male.
#3: You can enjoy the pleasures of sex in at least three parts of your body all at the same time, men.
#4: Being single will not necessarily be difficult for you.
#5: You will never be surprised of the cruelty and simplicity humans are capable of.

Being bisexual you get to be a breeder and enjoy it yet get double the discrimination from both gay and straights over who you date. Hmmm ok that was just a dig at the gays and straights not an advantage but had to throw it out there. You get to be bicultural, Kind of like a multiethnic person, and you can say anything and a person will mistake it for the others orientations culture. You get to say things like you monosexuals are all the same and mean it.
You get to be pissed off at all bigotry you don’t have to tolerate it when gays are bigoted against straights and bisexuals like some here just because they are gay. You get to defend both sides of an issue in the same sentence. and sometimes you even get to offer up a third side to an argument between gay and straights. You get to look at both communities and say I know how you feel and mean it.
You get to know you throw off every homophobic persons argument just by saying that doesn’t apply to me because I am bisexual (thank you very much). You get to throw off every bigoted gay persons argument against straights by saying that doesn’t apply to me because I am bisexual. LOL
You can honestly commiserate with the negative stereotypes of both sides of an issue because you have witnessed both.
You can pass in both communities if you learn to keep your big mouth shut.
As a bisexual you don’t have to come out if you don’t want to.
Life is good because you can talk about sex with a lot more people and you are not limited in your sexual repertory. You can give more helpful pointers to your straight relationship sexual partner because you have experienced precisely what they are doing.
I could be here all day doing this.

Gay relationships are usually much more evenly balanced: no one has to do all the housework, all the lawn care, all the cooking, etc. Each partner does the things (chores) he or she is better at. There's no power trip. We don't concern ourselves with who's the bread winner. Also knowing that the one you're with understands your body and not having to guess -as in straight sex.
I wouldn't want to have to deal with that ever again. Thank you. 30 years ago thought I was straight and got married-YUCKO!!!
to sheritah and ak, if you don't have something worthwhile to say, stick a sock in it- or unplug your computer. IGNORANT!!

I would have to say first, why the hell do you think that this is a proper question?
Then I would have to say, Benefits are for choices, you can't choose your orientation, then I would have to say that there are advantages the heterosexuals have to Homosexuals, and vice versa.
But they are just differences because, again, they are not choices.

If lesbian, there is women insurances only with a special discount and benefits
Can share credit cards without the cashier knowing any difference ( since she wouldnt know our names)
