Oxiclean. While the stain is wet with water, sprinkle Oxiclean on the stains and let set 45 min to an hour, then wash.
Another good thing to use is Iron Out. You can get it at most hardware stores. I would use it in some kind of container out side tho...(it stinks, but good)....Mix it like direction say and soak overnight, then wash in machine.
I never use regular bleach, it breaks down fibers too fast and sometimes yellows
Good luck

There are so many stains......lots of remedys. I use to own a cleaning business, the best product for real stain fighting abiliy, is mean green. I swear by it, maybe not good with mirror or windows, but I have cleaned just about everything eles with it. It's good in laundry, great for carpets and upholstery. It comes in a gallon jug and usually cost 5.00, at general dollar, or family dollar. Other stores carry it too. The best thing about it, low fuems. It's wonderful cleaning nicotine on walls, great for cleaning.

Get some Rit dye the color of the coat and follow directions. It is better than trying to remove it because the stain has already changed the color of the coat.

It really depends on what the stains are. My best friend is a chef and would pretreat his coats as soon as he got home. This probably doesn't help you now, but try the link below, it's worked for me.
Good luck.

I don't know if this will work, but I have used this for several kinds of stains....If you buy oxi-clean powder, and follow the instructions and soak the clothing in the oxi-clean water for several hours....usually gets most stuff out!! Have used for blood stains, wine stains, red dye stains etc

for really tough stains, i soak my clothes overnight in oxyclean. don't know whether this will help with your coats because it sounds like they have set-in cooking oils/grease. those types of stains are more difficult to deal with and may require extra washings. here are a couple of websites with some ideas. HTH!

if the stains were from blood , like meat, you likely have set them in by using hot water, i doubt it will ever come out., if it was greasy stains try goof off or oops and add oxy clean to the water.
