My husband will run around the house clenching his butt cheeks together trying to find something to read while he poops. Is this normal? Is this a man thing? if you answer, tell me if you are a male or female.

I am a male, and always have a stock of reading material next to the porcelain. I thought it was compulsory to read. (I will read ANYTHING, even technical journals while relieving myself).

Never in my almost 100 years of living have I ever read anything while in the bathroom, as you say taking a "dump". it is the same way when I am eating. When I finish I am out of the dining room; but lots of households think of that as a social gathering. I use to take my dad out on occassion and go to a fine restaurant to get a bite to eat. I would be finished with my meal in at least twenty minutes, if not shorter. For him to eat would be almost an hour as he would talk instead of eating, stirring his corn, or whatever, still talking but not eating. Drove me nuts. He is gone now and I wish I could go back and enjoy his conversation, and stir, and play with my food also. Be patient. What would I do if we left? Why not stay there and enjoy for as long as it takes. It seems I am writing essays instead of answering questions. Sorry..
But whatever you do call, or visit your parents; as you will not regret it. Rody_o

I'm a female.
My hubby does it all the time! This is so a man's thing! All men do it, it's totally normal. He claims that he can't poop without reading something!
