I have purchased a new home computer...I need someone to tell me what a FireWall is..I think I will be needing one for when I can re-enter the chatroom I enjoy.Maybe not a wise idea to return to that particular room...But that is the one I enjoy...And outside of a few PUNKS..it is alot of Fun...Help me out if you can...THANKS!

Software firewalls tend to be much cheaper than the hardware ones. I would recommend you try ZoneAlarm (http://www.zonelabs.com). They can provide a free one that would do the trick for your needs, most likely. They also come with a free tutorial you should read up on after installing the utility.

If you ordered a dell it comes with antivirus/firewall provided by mcafee. The chatroom probably wants you to disable your firewall, so it can access your computer to run its chat software.
