blame madonna's hit single "hung up" from last year that brought back the sounds of post disco/early 80s synthesizers in modern-day pop music. months later, jessica simpson gets into the scene with her biggest hit ever "a public affair" and gnarls barkley with "crazy". now justin timberlake's song "sexyback" has a retro feel with the computerized voices and club beats mixed in.

i don't know if it's me or the sounds from the 80s has made a huge comeback in music.

Good observation especially with Jessica! When I heard it the first time I though it was corny but never realized it was actually 80. In any case you know what, the best artist in pop come from the 80 : Prince , MJ, U2, Madonna, JJ, just to name a few. I heard lately other groups who also sound 80ish . I guess it's like fashion...It's a cycle of 20 years and then they bring it back with a new twist!

I think more than just the 80s are making a comeback. I have been listening to a lot of music now in which it is either a take-off of, a remake of, or includes songs dating back through the 60s. A lot of the younger generations are re-discovering the roots in music and it is exposing them to groups who sound just as fresh today as they were then. All the variations in all the different categories of music need ot be brought back to light. Hopefully, it will inspire and bring back some of those creative juices music seems to be losing. Push the corporate curtains back and get to the real picture!

Well I think that has happened in the rock industry as well. The people who grew up during the 80's are now old and forming bands. They were influenced by the 80's music scene so naturally their own music kind of sounds the same.

Yes, and I am so for it! It's definitely resurging - listen to Jessica Simpson's "Public Affair" also known as obvious Madonna "Holiday" rip-off.

Who cares? You seem like the type of person who dwells in the past, or dwells in a cave? I like some 80's but most of it is old news to me.

Don't compare anything Jessica Simpson does with classic 80's..I've always been and will always be hopelessly devoted to Journey and Steve Perry. "Send her my love...Roses never fade.."
