What do Indian families think about public displays of affection?

My boyfriend is Indian, and I don't know whether it's appropriate to hold hands in front of his extended family. I know things like that would be fine in front of my family, though.

well, if they are a very conservative family... maybe pda isn't a really good idea. if they're a moderate family, then go ahead and hold his hand. although, i'm sure his family (conservative or not) won't feel offended if you two held hands.
