Irish people have also been discriminated against (read your history books), So why shouldn't we be proud?!! Aside from the famine we have also endured a lot. We should all be proud of where we came from especially since both black and Irish people came from such humble beginnings. The thing of it is, the Irish history isn't as well known. You really should think about what your saying and stop spreading hatred. We both came from humble beginnings.

IRISH, PROUD OF IT, AND WOULDN'T WANT IT ANY OTHER WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am glad I am not a Black Irish person living in America. It is bad enough when someone has the nerve to imply that slavery in America is a small part of Black Hstory. (Not in American history) There are people I know who have were born when Harriet Tubman was still alive, man! They are here and fully aware what is going on around them. Slavery is only 1 generation back. There is a man in my part of VA who at 84 years old, remembers his grandfather who ws a slave here. His grandfather was just honored a proper military graveside burial, a hero in the Cival War just this past Sunday. Everyone involved in making that happen is recieving cival awards for that accomplishment. I dont get money for being Black. If this is the case, who what where why and how? I didnt go to college free because I am Black...look, mind you own business and stop trying to be all up in mine, mad man. Got no time for you. (sorry, asker...wait, you trying to be hateful, hater? Let me just report you.)

This isn't even a question. But I have one. Wouldn't you agree that historically, black people picking cotton in America only represents infact only a small portion of black history? Why do black people insist that the only thing worth remembering about black history is the fact that for a brief time, white Americans enslaved Africans and made them pick cotton. Jewish history includes thousands of years of enslavement at one time or another; but you don't see anyone granting this group of people reciprocity money for their historical troubles, or granting the jewish community a month to celebrate their history.

Furthermore, what the hell do Irish people have to do with you being black anyway? And who are you to say that the Irish people, or people with Irish ancestory, should stop identifying themselves as being such? Thats like saying that black people should stop trying to identifying themselves as being black, or of African ancestory. Lastly, I hope one day you pull your head out of your *** and stop picking on white people for being white.

Really, they don't? I've heard plenty of black people cry slavery, etc at the drop of a hat.

No one really mentions being Irish until St. Patricks where I live, but I have to hear about people's blackness constantly.

You spelled famine wrong.

And actually a lot of black people bring up slavery and how the white man is bringing them down and all that. Why do you think we have affirmative action?

Besides, you can't tell people to just forget about their heritage. If you're really that jealous, go look into your family history and maybe you'll find some cool stories.

famend?

what is that?

If you're going to make hateful comments like that, at least hit the spell check first, you have no idea how dumb that makes you sound.

As if your comment wasn't dumb enough...

If someone had made the same type of comment about people with African ancestry, you'd probably have a hissy fit.

I thought this was America..........where we can all be proud of our heritage? Why would you "hate" people just because they know about their ancestors? I happen to be part Irish..........does that mean you "hate" me, even though you have never met me?
