I am confused about HPT's cuz some women say even if that package says not to read them after 10 minutes that you shouldn't read them after 5 minutes. That makes no sense. What should I go on the package or other women? I took some HPT's a couple weeks ago and right before the time limit ended I got a verry very FAINT FAINT line on them both {they were about a week apart}, the time limit on them were 10 minutes. but someone said not to read them after 5 minutes? wth? what do you think?

I would say after 10 minutes, don't read the test. Whatever answer your going to get, you are going to be able to see after about 5 minutes.

And I should say, I got a very faint line with my last two pregnancies and they both turned out to be positives.

Of course, when in doubt, a quick pee or blood test by a doctor will tell you for sure.

Good luck, I hope it turns out as you would like.

Definitely go by whatever the box says.

For better accuracy use the first morning's urine when your bladder is full. If you don't read the test at the time indicated by the instructions, they could be inaccurate.

False negatives are much more commong than false positives. If it's positive, you are.
Best bet: just go to the Dr.!! He can take a bloodtest or do a vaginal ultrasound and tell you with absolute certainty before you leave his office.

Go by the box they give time limits because in some cases if it sits too long then a faint line may appear and it could be negative. but if its positive then the line would appear almost immediately. i would watch it and if no line appears in the time limit then you would know the results are negative. but the best way to tell is to go to the Doctor.

Follow the directions on the box. Just because lots of women have used the tests does not make them an expert on them. The people that manufacture the tests know better.

Go by what the box says. Also it doesn't matter how faint or dark the line is it means the same thing.

It is not possible to get a false positive. It is possible to get a false negetive.
The way the test works is it detects a hormone in your urine that is only present when you are pregnant. If it is faint, congrats! Your pregnant!

that could be why it truly is detrimental, you're likely very early contained in the being pregnant, contained in the morning the pee is more effective concentrated and shows more effective HCG many times, peeing acceptable in the previous a try i.e an hour or so, can make the try be a pretend detrimental.
