Guinea pigs!
1 albino (white with red eyes) called Snowy and 1 multi-coloured with little tufts of hair sticking up called Fruitcake.
I was about 5 years old at the time.
They were very friendly and I used to let them run around the yard, they never ran away.
I haven't had a guinea pig since then but I still like them.

Not sure if it was the parakeet or the beagle-type dog our housekeeper snuck in (and my mother made her get rid of), but my first "real" pet was a boxer puppy (to replace that beagle). We'd been begging for a dog for years.
Can you imagine a five year old's reaction to a boxer puppy??? That would be me. "How UGLY!" I thought. She was wonderful with us - a GREAT child's pet. Though I haven't had another since I was a preteen, I still remember them with great affection.

My first pet was a pit bull/beagle mix named Cocoa...he was a wonderful dog...he ended up with a brain tumor and had to be put to sleep...my next pet was a little grey kitty...I don't remember his name but I remember how cudly he was and I have always loved cats ever since.

My first pet was a stray dog my mom adopted. She was a German Sheppard we named Dutchess. She lived to be around 16 years old. Ahhh, memory lane! :)

We always had family pets, but my first personal pets were tropical fish and I loved them very much.
I also had hermit crabs for awhile, and then a cat.
now I just have a husband and 3 kids..... hahahahaha

Mine was a welsh pony named Pumpkin. We got her when I was 4. My little brother and I didn't ride her very often but we gave her lots of treats and love. She was so precious.
