I don't believe in killing God's creatures. I am looking or an effective method of ridding these creatures. My kitchen is spotless and clean of any food. The outside weather is cool. I tried pounding the counter, use a radio and sprayed diluted amonnia on the counter for smell. Any one have any other solutions. Plus do ant hear, smell or see colors.

I don't know if ants are capable of hearing or seeing colors, but I am guessing they smell because they ALWAYS find food! I had an ant problem in a place I lived. The way I was able to at least keep the ants away from the kitchen counter was to sprinkle Sevin Dust (can be purchased at any hardware store or in the garden shop of kmart or walmart) around the perimeter of the house, focusing on doorways and near windows. I also sprinkled it under my sink and around the baseboards.

ants leave a trail behind where ever they walk...hence they always walk behind each other...your going to have to kill a few...and scrub the counter down with soap and water to get rid of the trail....

Hi, Try pouring plain, ground cinnamon on the affected areas and in the corners and crevices wherever the little buggars are, they don't like it and will go away.

Put used coffee grounds around your house. It won't kill the ants but they won't cross the line either.

Do you always look downward on the sidewalk (even when you're running) so that you don't accidentally step on them?
