OF COURSE NOT, and anybody who says they would feel better with a donkey in office either is lying or completely IGNORANT of what is going on in the world around us.

Depends on the Democrat. But to be totally honest, I have no idea. None of us can truly know what a different person (Republican or Democrat) would be like as President. All I know is that Bush's complete disrespect for the laws, the Constitution, and standing precedent don't make me feel safer. Nor do the tens of thousands of Muslims chanting "Death to America" in Iraq - where, according to the Bush Administration, things are going just fine!

Absolutely. A Democrat lead the Greatest Generation in defeating German, Italian, and Japanese fascism. He was followed by other great Democrats who kept this nation safe through some difficult times.
This idea that somehow Democrats can't defend America is just plain nonsense.
And frankly, I don't feel real safe right now. We have a lawless administration that has committed our resources to a made up war, when we need to have that asset ready for the "real" threats to our security.

That depends on what you mean by "we"? If we means millionaires whose kids won't ever serve in the armed forces and who will make lots of money from the blood oil that someday--maybe--will get exported from Iraq, then no. A Democrat would not make us safer.
Do you realize that when those crazy Democrats were writing the tax codes, they would only give tax cuts to billionaires if they created jobs in America? That's insane! You should give tax cuts to billionaires and just *hope* that they'll use that money to create jobs here instead of shipping jobs overseas.
And please don't worry about the deficit. Our grandchildren can pay that off after we're dead. See? Some solutions don't hurt a bit. In the meantime can keep on borrowing money from Chinese banks (like the heroic Republicans have been doing). I mean, certainly we can trust China to never use that as a negotiating leverage against us. So being massively in debt to China is really not a "national safety" issue anyway.

A lot safer than I feel with that idiotic moron who's president right now. He's a psychotic, brain dead fool. I just hope the country lasts until we can get a Democratic president in 2008.

Democratic president in 2008 keep dreaming! We could have gained short term peace by capitulating to the terrorists (as we did during the 93 WTC bombing) but the would have come back stronger; as they did in the 911 attack.
I fear what the next attack will be, especially if there is a democrat president who the terrorist know will not respond.

I feel safe no matter who is president. And when did a president ever cover your back? Now if Teddy Roosevelt was pres, he carried a gun and a sword and was not afraid of anything. If something went down he would be there. Like San Juan Hill

I would feel safe with a non-politician as president! Whether democrat, republican or independent, I want a president who's in it for 'public service' for all Americans and the world at large -- instead of the interests of his group, his family and his pocketbook.
Partisan politics is for the weak minded imo.

I am not party specific, but I am concerned how Bush is pushing the U.S. into a huge deficit to finance this war and how many jobs are being off-shored under his watch. I always think that whoever the President is, he or she should be thinking of your nation first and its best interests over the long term.
