If being gay is something that God wants us put to death for, yet he hasn't, shouldn't that mean that ignorant homophobes need to shut the hell up?

And don't say that's what we have AIDS for because AIDS is just a much a straight disease as it is a gay disease, and anyone, regardless of orientation is going to get it as long as they sleep around.
I simply don't believe that God wants us put to death for it, and I don't even believe it is still or ever was a sin( my opinion anyway), and that's why God hasn't put us to death. So, therefore, anti-gays need to mind their own business. Anyone agree?

Also, nobody has ever met God so they do not know what he wants. And if you have met him, give me an autograph or tell him to give me a call.

YES! I was discharged from the Navy for being gay. I came home and for a year or more prayed for God to bring a woman into my life that I could love. It never happened. then I said "OK GOD! if it is meant for me to be with a man for the rest of my life then introduce me to him." A week later I met the man of my dreams. That was 21 years ago and we have been together every since. There is NO DOUBT that the loud mouth, self-ritious, hypocrits should shut up! Oh and my guy? He is 16 years younger. I am considered a member of his family and he is considered a member of mine. My brother-in-law is a Southern Baptist Deacon and he loves me and supports me. Not ALL Christians are hypocrits.

I agree that homophobes need to shut the hell up..

But the whole gay is evil thing started with right wing wacko christians.. .. they have somehow decided that they have the right to pass judgment on all who do not believe the same as they do.. it's what the whole relegion is based on.
Men by nature fear being known or thought of as gay even if they are because of the stigma attached to it. women fear being gay even if they are for much the same reason, but since 1985 it's almost trendy for women to be gay because heterosexual men think that means that they can have two chicks at the same time,,WRONG. Being lesbian means they don't like MEN.
And initialy the first reports of A.I.D.S cases were predominantly Gay men.. they entire country used this as an excuse to prove their own Agenda.
I still have a penthouse magazine from '84 that has an extensive artilcle about A. I.D. S. proudly proclaiming it as "The GAY Plague" in said article it tells all of us heterosexuals that we don't need to wear condoms because you can only contract H.I.V. from Anal sex with men.
How stupid is that,, but the media covered the issue that way,, and it may have originated in the gay lifestyle,, it soon spread to all facets of our culture. Now it is only second to cancer as our nations # 1 killer..
So As A heterosexual Man. I can simply answer your question this way.. Not only should Homophobes SHUT UP.. they should also Listen up.. because you can ignore it all you want,, but A.I.D.S. is knocking at your door.. And GOD has got very little sympathy for you after the way you treated everyone else...
It's in your back yard now.. It's here I fear.. Get used to it.

Yes. But that's because your hypothesis is false, for there is no God - no personal God. A false premise implies anything. But I do think that discrimination against gays must end. The best place to start is to contradict your church's teachings on gayness, if your church asserts anti-gay dogma. The next place is in the laws of your state. In particular, all these measures that would define marriage as between a man and a woman should be voted down, and anti-gay laws should be repealed.

Yes, I agree.

I agree with you, baby girl. But some folks just like to keep a bunch of mess going because they're dissatisfied in their lives. Homophobia is another form of hate that MAN has delved into and God had nothing to do with it. Folks need to understand that we're all His children and we have to get a grip. The next time someone say that "God hates fags" and quote only certain verses from Leviticus(make me wanna cuss!), this is what I tell them...

"How can you condemn me? You didn't die on Calvary! How HATE me and you see me, but you LOVE God and you can't see Him?"

The best way to get a homophobe is to use the Bible(some folks only read certain chapters and verses). The same book that they use to preach hate, use it for love(which was it's original intention).

Well there are a lot of sins going around and God has not put any of us to death for it. That means we live then we die at our appointed time ,then we will be judged on our sins .That goes for each and everyone of us. Just because God has not sent a lightning bolt down and fried us does not mean he is in agreement or approves. He gave us free will to decide how to live our lives. Hope that gives another perspective, take care ~A~

Some people have chosen six verses in the Bible (as huge as it is, six verses) that when taken absolutely literally, condem homosexual acts. When the context is taken into account, these verses condem homosexual rape as a form of humiliation, and homosexual abuse of young boys. Nothing more.

In contrast there are something like 1800 verses in the Bilbe that speak of God's unconditional Love, and of Love for one another. For Christians, we read the words and actions of Jesus Christ, who never once spoke of homosexuality, but spoke constantly of Love. Moreover, Christ was always the first to include the outsiders. Even those scorned by others. If Christ walked among us today, he would include us all.

God's most important commandment is to Love God, and love your neighbor as yourself.

Amen

First of all, thinking that homosexuality is wrong and a sin doesn't make somebody a homophobe. It just means that we know how to read a book. We are entitled to our beliefs. We are not obligated to agree with and support EVERYTHING that YOU do. Understand?

Next, GOD doesn't put homos to death. God told US to do that. God instructed the people to put them to death. But that was the Old Testament. Then this person came along. His name was Jesus, and he changed everything. NOW, we don't have to kill homos anymore. We are NOT supposed to judge. However, we CAN read, and we CAN think what you're doing is wrong. But it's YOUR choice and it's between you and God now. So chill out.

Good luck my friend. I hope you have a happy life.

I dont know any people who think Gays should be put to death. I do know many who believe that the punishment for all sin is death and thankfully the gift of God is Eternal life for those who repent and believe in God. I believe that God rarely punishes anyone in this earth anymore. (Satan would like us to believe we are being punished by God but usually it is just us being "pruned" for better uses it may feel like punishment but it is not... it is usually training or at worst an attack by the enemy himself) But I digress. As far as "minding our own business" it is my business to pull people out of spiritual fires. Would a person in a burning building tell the firemen to "go away and mind thier own business" (if he did we would still ignore them and pull them out then send them to the looney bin)

I agree with u. Even if being homosexual was wrong 2000 years ago, who's to say god didn't change his mind, damn the guy is allowed to grow too! I think if he is as a fantastic Omnipotent being as everyone makes him out to be then he has a complete understanding of homosexuality, more than any person on earth.

As a Christian, I can only say that Christ came to Earth for the sinners, which is all of us... gay, straight, whatever. Christ admonished us to pull the log out of our own eye before fretting over the splinter in another's; not to cast the first stone, and so on. I think his view on condemnation is quite clear. The message of Christ is, over and over, LOVE. You simply cannot love a person while simultaneously wishing that person dead, and to do so is really an atrocity. Hatred in the name of God is repulsive.
