I'm 6'2 260 I drive a -Lincoln Town Car. If you look around you can probably find a good deal on A Grand Marquis. with the DOHC 4.6 V-8 i get 25 -26 mpg on the open road. And the car is really comfortable.

If it were I buying a car in your situation i would go for a honda accord. They are one of the most dependable cars on the road as well as one of the most safe cars on the road as well. The accord looks good drives awsome, and will last you a life time. Simply there is no better way to go. This responce is for the information gave. You can get a Chevy Cobalt, which is in that price range and I'm 6'4" and drove it. Pretty fun car to drive.
Also you should check out the used Toyota Avalon from 1999-2003 and see if you can pick one up, they get great gas milage and ride real well.

i'm 6'2 and most cars didnt have enougn room to ride comfortably so i bought a truck f150 super cab with a 4.2 v6 it gets 20 mpg as long as i don't pull my 14 ft trl

buy a pre-used Volvo for $10k...a turbo wagon...fast , dependable, lots of room. you know as soon as you drive a new car off the show room floor it degrades by value many grand !!! don't be one who has more dollars than cents !!!!!!!!
