Clear your mind and don’t think of anything
Don’t drink any beverages with caffeine before you go to bed
If noise is keeping you awake, buy a fan to fog out the noise. If you don’t like the humming noise of a fan, buy earplugs.
Make sure you have a comfortable mattress
When your room temperature is as cold as 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit and you have a thick enough blanket to keep your body warm, you will sleep well; cool air is easier to breathe. If your room is too hot, buy an air conditioner. Also a dehumidifier will get rid of humidity and helps you breath.
Sometimes air circulation is good for a good night sleep: open windows, fans, etc.
If you are allergic to anything in your room, get rid of it, plugged noses is one of the major causes of sleeplessness. Also find some kind way or product to keep your nose unplugged. Deeply sniffing vinegar then blowing my nose gets rid of congestion.
“Sleepytime” tea also puts you to sleep.

I never have sleep problems, I can’t even think at night because I doze off so easily. For some reason it’s hard for me to keep awake in a bed when it’s dark. I mostly sleep with a fan on, even during the winter.
