i would go to a podiatrist if you are having problems with your feet i went to a good shoe store and was measured plus analysed to see where all the pressure was on my feet, these shoes are not cheap but have done wonders they are called MBT shooes they make them in sneaker sandal and dress style they are expensive but they are designed to take the pressure off your heels and arches. also new balance cross trainers are good. take care of those feet if you're like me you will be on them for a long time to come!!!

You'll need something with arch support but that's not always easy or inexpensive to find and some companies demand that one wear a certain kind of shoe like loafers, which are uncomfortable as hell. Listen, get what you think will be comfortable and try them for a few days and if they don't give you enough support you can go to walmart or your local pharmacy or chemist and get some of those Dr Schoals in-step supports. I think they are about 5 bucks and they fit inside your shoes like an insole. They really made my life a lot easier!

This flexifly anatomical arch support you see pictured at the top was what the HMO doctor told me to buy 5 yrs ago (I have 2 pair now). The doctor herself was wearing them in her shoes.

As you can see it is not cheap but I had fallen arches and it had affected my knees causing them to be so painful that one day I could hardly walk. The orthotic is a cloudy smooth plastic.

Cheap orthotics which are made of rubber are to be avoided. I thought I was saving money when I found a pair of orthotics (different brand) made of white rubber at a store at the Great Mall in San Jose, California. I like to walk and when walking with the rubber orthotics, it grabbed my socks and caused stocking folds under foot. It made walking very painful.

I wear the flexifly in my Nikes and Adidas. Because we had a dress code at work, I had to get a note from my doctor to present to the manager as sports shoes were not approved office wear. If you buy the sports shoes without backs (Nike sliders) there is usually a tiny back edge which will hold the orthotics in the shoe.

Oh, now I wear Birkenstock sandals and clogs part of the time. The arches in those shoes vary in height depending on the particular shoe.

You need to ask your doctor if it will work for you. Whatever you decide, I wish you well.

If you are having problems with your feet, legs or back, try z-coil shoes. They are very expensive, but well worth it if you have to stand a lot. You can find them at www.z-coil.com.
