Love each other? Maybe not; might be a stretch on love. But as for respect, just about everybody should be given a chance at respect; it's what the other person does with that opportunity that makes the difference.
As for it being hard to get along with others, in my opinion, (with a few exceptions) it's only as hard as people make it for themselves.

because it depends on where people are in life, how they grew what they learn from there mother and Father. Yes it is really hard for people to get along, especially when there is still racism out there. You may think it is easy for every one to get along. But that's not how humans work. Every one has there opinon and everything else you can't change that about people. People Have different attitudes towards life. like i said it all depends on who you are and your attitudes and opinons. It's Also greed that makes people want to do terrible things to each other.

Yes, it is difficult in fact. It is easier to attract people towards bad things because they give instantaneous joy. And when it comes to things like this, we don't see any immediate good affects. It takes longer.
There are selfish people, who by misleading all the people they get on with. They do all sorts of things and people believe tham.
But it is not totally their wrong, since they can do this because other allow it.
Hence one should or people should think and come together to have that type of bond which is difficult but not impossible. There are some places it is happened and happening also.

Each one, teach one! Lead by example. What if everyone who reads this did a single simple good deed today and said simply "Pass it on to someone else"?
What if we all made it a point speak up whenever someone made a joke at the expense of another culture or religion or made a false generalization about a particular race?

Your concept is good; it is almost utopia. But the information technology that has brought the world's population closer has effectively caused them to be farther apart. The Muslims will respect and love you as long as you adhere to the Quran and bend to their rules. That is why the world is at war. You are either a Muslim, or you are an infidel.
I wish that was not the case. I have met and befriended several Muslims. It is not their faults that love and respect comes at a price; not from them; but from their leadership.

A man was sick and tired of going to work every day while his wife
stayed home. He wanted her to see what he went through so he prayed:
"Dear Lord: I go to work every day and put in
8 hours while my wife merely stays at home.
I want her to know what I go through, so please
allow her body to switch with mine for a day. Amen.
God, in his infinite wisdom, granted the man's wish. The next
morning, sure enough, the man awoke as a woman.
He arose, cooked breakfast for his mate, awakened the kids,
Set out their school clothes, fed them breakfast, packed their lunches,
Drove them to school, came home and picked up
the dry cleaning, took it to the cleaners
And stopped at the bank to make a deposit, went grocery shopping,
Then drove home to put away the groceries,
Paid the bills and balanced the checkbook.
He cleaned the cat's litter box and bathed the dog.
Then it was already 1 P.M. and he hurried to make the beds,
do the laundry, vacuum, dust, and sweep and mop the kitchen floor.
Ran to the school to pick up the kids and got into an argument with
them on the way home.
Set out milk and cookies and got the kids organized to do their homework,
Then set up the ironing board and watched TV while he did the ironing.
At 4:30 he began peeling potatoes and washing vegetables for salad,
breaded the pork chops and snapped fresh beans for supper.
After supper, he cleaned the kitchen, ran the dishwasher, folded
laundry, bathed the kids, and put them to bed. At 9 P.M. he was exhausted
and, though his daily chores weren't finished, he went to bed where he was
expected to make love, which he managed to get through without complaint.
The next morning, he awoke and immediately knelt by the bed and said,
Lord,
I don't know what I was thinking. I was so wrong to envy my wife’s being
able to stay home all day. Please, oh please, let us trade back."
The Lord, in his infinite wisdom, replied, "My son, I feel you have learned
your lesson and I will be happy to change things back to the way they were.
You'll just have to wait nine months, though. You got pregnant last night."

Human nature is to fear & distrust other people until they prove they're worthy. Some people have a short barrier until they trust, but each time that trust gets violated, the barrier becomes bigger.

people are too easily offended by every little thing. It's unreal. It's hard to get along with people that get mad over just anything.

How can I respect and love someone who looks down on me, who takes advantage of me, someone whose moral values are contrary to mine? Respect and love are earned, not required of a person.
