Sorry to disagree with everyone here, but you are talking about the two leading Democrats is the country here. And that said, it would be a ideal ticket. I mean c'mon, would you rather have Howard Dean in the mix. Yea, me neither. And by the way Bored Stiff, under the current administration, gas is going up everyday, and his little democracy plan in Iraq is now causing a civil war, and now he has us heading for WW III. But of course you conveniently forgot that detail.

The biggest impediment to the Democratic party reconnecting with mainstream America is their inability to support mainstream political thinking and mainstream candidates.
America is not far left, as are both Hillary and Barack (neither is America far right). Radicals get fervent support for the nomination by the die-hard extreme element of their respective party. (Just read the comments here).
But moderates get elected. This is why Hillary is moving toward the center...she figures the nomination is hers for the asking (it isn't).
If Democrats wanted to show America that they are a big-tent party, they wouldn't be putting Joe Lieberman through the meat grinder today. It's hard to believe that a few years ago he was nominated for the Vice Presidency by acclimation at the Democratic convention.
Believe me, you guys can do better than Hillary (remember her plan for a huge government takeover of our health care system?) and Barack (a junior Senator with 1 year on the job).
How about a split ticket: McCain - Lieberman?

Hillary at least has the experience of choosing judges and cabinet members, crafting medical policy and running the White House.
What exactly has Obama done? He makes a symbolic statement, but that's about it. He's been a junior Senator for less than 2 years. Maybe in another few years he will have contributed something. He will benefit the ticket about as much as Edwards. Pretty face, no substance, no states.

I personally like Barack Obama because he is a good orator. Hillary, I don't like very much. She is a flip-flopper. Obama would probably do well. I'm sure if a black canidate was running, black america would vote for him/her. He also would get moderate vote due to his speaking ability.

why not? that will be a first for america.
first woman president, first black man for vice president. clinton will be fine since she is well expose about the west wing and its policy. obama will be great so he can run for presidency next time. he need to get the experience so it will contribute on his own political agenda in the future, cause people will know of him, how he do good on their term.
also, from what i have heard, that will opposite on republican side the secretary of state-condi rice?
i wanted to see both campaign, that will be one to watch for in a political arena.

Obama hasn't been in politics all that long - he needs more experience.....not to mention he and Hillary don't see eye-to-eye on a lot of issues. Should she run and get the nomination, her ideal running mate would probably be Richard Durbin of Illinois.

Hillary for sure and who ever she chooses would be an equally smart person like she is. At this point I think Hillary is getting fed up with what she is seeing ! That's my opinion.

Sounds real strong to me!
Unfortunately, there are too many people who are not ready for a lady and a member of the racial minority to ascend to the highest offices in this country; despite the fact that I think that they would do a good job.
