They're close enough. There will always be some nutjob who gets offended over nothing, but the ratings are for the majority of viewers, not the fringe.

Yes. If you ever study statistics, what you will learn is that as long as you have a minimum of 35 randomly selected people, you will be very accurate in your results. The Nielson ratings use far more than just 35. THey actually are well into the thousands! That doesn't mean that other shows aren't watched, it just means that a majority of people watch the shows that make their top list.

It's supposed to be a sampling but I don't think they are that credible.

Yep. I used to be a Neilson household. They put monitoring equipment on your tv. It dials the main office each night and tells them what you watched.

I think the TIVO report is a better indicator.
