I can appreciate how you feel. It's no fun going out alone, and it's even harder to go out with a friend for a meal or movie because you are worrying about your spouse at home. I sat down and had a heart to hear with my spouse. We now go out once a week for a meal & go grocery shopping together. He and I hit on the solution of us doing the above 2 things together and then once or twice a week I have made outside friends and am included with them when they go out to eat or my single friends and I may go to the mall, or flea markets, or whatever once or twice a month. He now understands my feelings and I have a better understanding of his feelings. (PS-Have you or can you buy out at school so you can retire early? Is he willing to move to another state for two to six months of the year? This would give you a wonderful chance to meet new people, get involved with volunteer work ( I volunteer with the Sherrif's Dept. in another state & just love it). Good Luck to you!

You should try to get involved with an activity, Whatever you like doing, I like soccer, tennis and to work out. What do you like to do, try joining a group that relates to that and then you could meet other people. You could go to the gym and then you could get into shape and meet ladies there, a regular gym, woman's only, or if you want to go with your husband, they say that couples who go together are more motivated and are more likely to continue going.
What about going on a trip somewhere. You can go and take tours and then you can make friends with people your age
Good luck, stay young and have fun with the precious gift of life, dotn't waste it, do something you always wanted to do

But dont let the mind wander here and there !
This is the time a little bit of good music will do wonders ! Maybe bhajans or other devotional or light music...! Even some service to the society in the form of some voluntary help to the nearby church/temple/ etc may help you to keep occupied..

Try to convince your husband to do something together, out of the city, may be... or near the sea. But, If he doesn't want, do it alone.!

With 52 years old, there is a lot of things you can be involved on! Don't think (and write) as if you were 100!

What do you teach & where? I want to make sure my kids can write better than you!

Please use your red pencil to correct the following, then use it on your Yahoo question:

"I (no comma) am a 52- year old, lonely, teacher. I gave my husband his last rites as I severed his hand from the remote control."

Email me your birth date day, month and year and email address.
And I will do you a numerology sample report it may give you some insight to your future.
As to you wanting to go out and your husband wanting to stay home why don't you just go out ?
Get some of your friends together and have a girlie night out to cheer you up.

Love & Blessings
Milly

This is sad..You probably love your husband too...talk to him about your feelings first..tell him you're too young to be wasting it at home that you need to get out for some fun. if he isn't willing to go out with you...get yourself prettied up...fire up the engines..and go have some fun for yourself..GO GIRL! It's so much fun getting out, every now and then..you will be welcomed. good luck!
