Countries that have a Parliamentary system of government have Prime Ministers. Those with a constitutional republic have a President.
Both titles are basically the same, although a Prime Minister can be removed by a vote of "No Confidence".

Some countries call them Presidents and some call them Prime Ministers. It is one or the other. Most of the old British colonies or British affiliated countries call their leaders Prime Ministers. Germany calls their leader Chancellor.

Well a PM is the leader of the ruling party.
A President is elected no matter what party is the ruling party.
A PM can party with his own. A President has to party with whomever.
