Sox may not sweep, but they need to take 2 of 3, and build some momentum for the Tigers coming in over the weekend.

do not sleep on the White Sox. they have a mixed 14-5 checklist against manhattan, Texas and Tampa Bay. in the event that they are able to hold off Detroit in the branch, they are able to be risky in a short playoff sequence with Sale, Peavy and Liriano. are you talking about in the playoffs, or in regular season games?

I don't think that the sox have enough pitching to make it out of the first round, assuming of course that they can edge out boston for the wild card. In that case though, they would play either the angels or the a's, whichever team wins the west.
