Yep, I always say I have "The Runs" and don't feel comfortable coming into work today.. and that I will call them later in the afternoon and let them know If I have improved enough to make it in tomorrow..(that way you can line up the next day off if you want also) the runs is a great excuse cos you dont actually still have to act a bit sick when you go into work the next day and no-one keeps asking you how you are feeling.. It may be embarassing to say to your boss.. but hey if you want the day off.. and usually it'll embarrass your boss enough not to ask any further questions..and you don't have to put on a croaky, sniffly voice either!!

I hate excuses of any kind, even if they are real. But, sometimes you just gotta tell people something that they want to hear.

It would be nice to have a boss that doesn't ask questions about why you are missing work. Hello boss I am not coming in to work today. Boss = alright, I will have to find someone else to cover for you. Come in if you can. yadda yadda.

In general, missing work is a lousy thing to do. In all my years of working, I have only faked sickness 2 or 3 times. Going to work sucks, but there is stuff to do you and I like collecting the paycheck.

if u r a female, just tell them u r having some physical female issue's that you would reather not describe or discuss. if u r a dude, tell them you are having some pyhsical male issue's you would rather not discuss. they will have no idea what it could possibly be and will be too embarrased to ask for details, and it leaves the door open to use that excuse again. for all they know you could have a serious problem that reoccurs every now and then.

The double eruption is a necessary excuse... When u got it coming from both the intake and outake valve you got serious problems and calling in sick in not excuse it's mandatory...

Hmmmm........honesty is the best policy I think.
"I can't come to work today because I have a fever and I can't stop coughing" is a good one, IF it's true........
I teach driver education. When I had an inner ear infection, I was extremely dizzy and I couldn't focus on the road and became nauseous. I had to call 4 students and cancel their lessons. I knew I was telling the truth........lying is NOT an option......

vomiting is a good word to use.....so is the word 'contagious'! Oh! I just used the words STREP THROAT and got out of three days of work...granted, it was true, and I had a doctors not to back it up. But when the office heard what I had, people steered clear of me. Use strep throat! Hight contagious!

Just tell them the truth. When you woke up this morning and thought about all the boring crap that lay ahead at work, you thought, stuff that, I think I'll stay in bed today.

Well..If you are calling in sick then just say you are not feeling well. If you give more info then asked for then it is apparent you are lying.

You are sick

vomiting, fever, being contagious with the flu or anything like that- strep throat is a good one if they don't want to see the dr. bill... food poisoning, but you really shouldn't lie in the first place--ha!
