my current gyno doc is gyno services only...i might be pregnant...and I was thinking of switching anyway...how do i go abt switching?

Go to your insurance provider's website or call the number, ask for a few referrals in your area. Hopefully you know someone who can make recommendations for you. If all else fails, ask some OB nurses at the local hospital. We are not allowed to put anyone down or give any negative information but if asked to make a recommendation of who *we* would choose will give you someone good. Think about who you are more comfortable with: male/female, older grandmotherly type, young & hip type

You need to find a gyno you would like to go to and see if they take your insurance and make sure they are accepting new patients, then you will have to sign a medical release to have your files transferred to the new doc. That should be about it. Ask your doc for more info.

I just went through this last month. what i did is i found a doctor that i liked, made sure that the new doctor accepted my insurance company. Since you believe that you might be pregnant make sure that the new Doctor deals with pregnant people, and you might have to get your records from the old doctor switched over to the new one, they will let you know anything else you might need to do.

Ask your current gyno for your records. You will have to sign for them to be released. Take them to your new gyno's office before your first appt. in case he/she wants to look over them. Done!

Find one who is taking patients and has a good rep....ask friends/family for their opinion on theirs. Schedule the appointment and when there sign releases so he/she can get your records from your old one.
