My friend and her soon to be x husband are separated and are fighting over who has the kids she finally was able to get day care and he came to the daycare and took the kids without her knowing they had to give the kids to him because he is the father and now he wont give them back and he wont answer his phone calls and according to the police in the town he lives in has moved and not filled out a change of adress. He came into her work today and had the kids and she was really upset because the kids were screaming for her there mom and the youngest which is 11 months old had a huge bruise on her head and when she asked what happened he said she fell but he has a really bad anger problem and has been to jail for it so that is why she is so worried. He is also mentally unstable. So i guess what i am asking is how can she get her kids back because no one will help her and she cant afford a lawyer so if anyone knows please help!

There are lawyers that would help in these cases. She needs to file something with the police immediately about her kids being taken and the injuries. Take pictures to document. Seek a lawyers advice immediately and get those kids safe! Shelters might have the right connections to probono lawyers, too. Call someone.

She needs to report to local police. He's kidnapping the kids, endanger welfare of the children, especially when he has a jail record, she has leverage, maybe there're public lawyers that the police station can point her to, and they can file some restraining order. I feel so sorry for your friend's situation. Hope things work out at the end.

The police are the only one that can help. If he visits her at work again. Make sure someone calls the police for her. Then have her keep him there as long as possible. Also, get the description of his car and what he and the kids are wearing.

Trust me, the police are there to help!

Legal aide and child protection should be able to help her. Also maybe a solicitor even if she has to pay it off for the rest of her life. If the children have been living with her and he took them you can get what they call a recovery order and than you take out a dv order to keep him away...legal help now...

Possession is 9/10 of the law if she can get them in her possession then maybe go to a womans shelter they will help her. It seems like he is just using the kids to get to her anyway. Maybe if it gets to complicated than he will just quite and leave them alone. If all else fails call DHS and tell them you fear for their safety!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
