the reason i ask is because i hardly know any one who likes old school punk rock

I do, it's the only punk I listen to. The new stuff is horrible and has little or no musical value.

Not too much new punk worth a crap, unfortunately. Like hip-hop, the commercial succes of the genre has led to something of an artistic stagnation. But I still listen to Buzzcocks, Bad Brains, Bad Religion, Pistols, Pixies....love those bastards. Now, we've got Good Charlotte calling themselves punk. What a world.

back when i was in middle school and high school, i used to be a big fan of old school punk rock. i was your typical punk, you might say. but in college, you grow up and change. then you graduate from college and you learn to appreciate other forms of music.

It depends on what bands.... I love the misfits...But i'm not completely sure about some of the older bands that i listen to if their punk rock..

MQ - it incredibly is okay. You ignored some substantial bands however. MQ2 - it grow to be cool until eventually it caught on. MQ3 - nope. i'm going to examine 'em out however. MQ4 - underrated: undesirable Brains, ny Dolls. overvalued: Ramones, intercourse Pistols. to no longer say their something decrease than astonishing of direction, yet i ought to do without all the obsessed fanboys.

I wish a few of them would get back together to show these pathetic excuses for 'punks' what the genre is all about. Black Flag, PiL, Strawberry Switchblade, GenX...just to name a few, would mop the floor with all these 'emo' poseurs and get us back to some real music...IMHO

i am disapointed by bands that insist on calling thmselves punkrock but continue to use more than fouyr chords in their songs. it justain't right.
