You may try drinking a lot more water to keep your self hydrated. Not enough water will also make your skin dry and itchy even if you use lotions. Also a lotion that has no dyes or scent added to it is best. They can also dry out your skin if you are prone to drying out too much.Good luck

1. You might have a skin condition that needs medical treatment, like mentioned above: Eczema
2. Skin care is more than lotion. You might be using the wrong soap/cleanser or other products. If you can't get to a dermatologist, then throw away or set aside everything you put on your skin. But new products that are for dry skin. They will say moisturizing or dry skin right on the front. Try it for a month and see if you notice any difference. If not, it's time to break down and see the doctor.
3. If you spend a lot of time outdoors and in the sun, that contributes to the problem, too. Try a moisturizing sunblock/sunscreen. Swimming pools have chlorine added to them, that can dry out skin. Stay out of the pool, or wash off and moisturize as soon as you get out.
4. Carry a small, trial sized lotion with you. Reapply throughout the day. Maybe a spray on so that you don't end up with greasy hands. I carry one for my elbows during the dry winter months.
Hope this gives you some ideas. Good Luck!

Make an appointment with your doctor. It sounds like eczema. It is very common. Usually the doctor will give you a prescription and you just follow the directions. I personally know quite a few people that have it. And it is nothing to be embarrassed about. The first time I brought up the topic was at some holiday like Thanksgiving and it turned out that a few of my cousins also have eczema. Good Luck, but I know you won't need it!

When you get out of the shower and before you dry off, put baby oil all over your body and rub it in then wait a few minutes before drying off with the towel. It works great for me! My skin has never felt nor looked smoother!

Try the Caress In Shower body lotion. My skin was the same way. I've been using it since last December and I love it. You apply it after your shower and rinse it off. It has really helped me.
