You know Rob, there's a lot of self-selecting bias here. The very act of sorting through questions and picking the ones to answer is going to eliminate answerers who are less passionate on the subject. It weighs against reasonable discussion and respect for opposite points of view. Most responses are fervent (agreement or disagreement).
Then there's the anonymity factor. people will say things "under cover" that they would never say face-to-face.
Finally, there's the idiot factor. There are a LOT of people here on YA who are spewing verbal graffiti in a childish effort to get a rise out of people. They're probably 15 - 18 years old (or adults with that level of maturity).
You learn to wade through it to pick out the stuff worth reading.

The further someone is to the left, the more everyone else seems to be to the right & vice versa.
If you are surrounded by extreme liberals, you can be a liberal but not see it because you seem so moderate compared to everyone around you. I think that is why DOCTOR WATSON thinks he is a moderate. All his posts show he is clearly a liberal, just not an extremist. But from his perspective, he is not a liberal.
I'll go over your Qs & As and see if the same applies to you. Or is it just the extreme right calling you liberal because that is their perspective? We will see.

I don't consider being left of centre a negative thing, nor do I consider being right of centre a negative thing. I've met smart, open-minded people on both sides of the spectrum. It is when either party gets ignorant and assuming without referring to facts that I have a problem with.

Fear is the bottom route of the equation. Life is so very hard for most, if not all of us, that we cling to what we hope will protect us. Bless us all, this is tough, and we all have our fears. The ones that make the most noise are the most afraid. They are terrified and scream loudly at any threat. Danger is ever present and if you question someone's devices for protecting themselves they will fight. Waking people up, I am guessing, must be gentle. We are all...

Care all you want. I don't mind. As long as you're not trying to show how much you care with my money. It doesn't take any compassion to spend other people's money.

Well, in my experience, some people tend to label or attack anyone who disagrees with them. Get used to it.
