Many times in Cognitive Behavioral Analysis, dreams play a very large role in determining underlying issues and causes. Dreams are the unconscious minds gateway into the conscious. The next time you are uneasy about something, or have something on your mind, and you go to sleep, keep a dream diary, and you will notice that very often, a facet of what is causing you unrest will appear in your dream in some form or another.
Now, on another note, many "Dream Dictionaries" and such have thier place, but dreams are best understood when taken in the context of the current and past life experiences of the individual. Recurring dreams are very often the minds way of making choices that the conscious mind was hesitant to make, and it's somewhat of a hypothetical exploring of options. When you read your dreams, try to find how they apply to you, and you will be surprised at how many nightmares will go away once an issue is confronted.
I have an Honors Degree in Forensic Psychology, specializing in Behavioral Analysis and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Allot of dreams are the unconscious mind trying to make sense of the information it received during it's waking hours. Some however do have meaning. They warn you of an event that is coming or a person who doesn't have your best interest in mind etc! Get you a good dream dictionary and keep track of your dreams. Your subconscious may be trying to tell you something!

I believe so, to an extent..........Lots of times I dream and then see the person I dreamt about doing the things I dreamed about them doing really soon after...........It's funny, though, some of the stuff I dream about is so "out there" I actually hope I never see it in reality.........LOL........Take care

It has meaning if *you* think it has meaning. It's *your* dream.
(I'm talking about the sleeping kind, not the 'I want to be ...' kind)
