Ricky Van Shelton is my father. (laughs) No, I’m not related to him, but that is probably the number one question I get out on the road, and in interviews and stuff, if I am related to him. And I have never even met the guy.

I say absolutely 100% that Ricky is DEFINATELY Blake's dad!! Blake was only joking in the CMT interview about it! I met both Blake and Ricky Van Shelton backstage MANY years ago when Blake was just a little boy!!! And now I'm as big a fan of Blake's as I STILL AM for Ricky!

There is no relations to both great singers. But Blake has often said he doesn't mind the mix up, as it puts him in good company.

I really thought he was his son. They look so much alike and also sound very much a like in their singing. Just hard to believe that Blake is not his son!
