why do girls wear so much makeup_s?

I assume it is because they don't know how to put it on appropriately. I don't think anyone purposely puts too much on with the intentions to look like a clown.

to enhance our beauty. Most people aren't perfect...a lot of girls dont have perfect comlextions and skin. I wear makeup to even it out...and there is nothing wrong with that! It makes you more confident, so why not? I'm not saying wear huge amounts of hooker type makeup every day, but whats the big deal about trying to look and feel your best? i wear makeup appropriate to what im doing...clubbing? sure ill put on some black eye liner and lip gloss...beach? just cover up is ok. and every day? I only wear maeup if i go out of the house....usually just cover up and eyeshadow.If you can wear fancy dresses and stuff like that, why can't you wear fancy makeup to match ?

ur absolutly rite, girls do wear too much makeup sometimes-ok, a LOT of times. i'm a girl-not a tomboy or a les- and i'm admitting that!
well makeup is supposed to enhance ur beauty, not make u beautiful. However, some girls dont see that and r insecure about how they look and so they drown themselves in makeup.
to me thats really stupid, bcuz watever guy ur trying to impress, wont be impressed at all by u r"fakeness".
u dont need a lot of makeup, just enough to enhance ur already beautful skin-but plz, no wild orange eyeshadow with bright blue lipstick...or u can just go natural like me, and let ppl see u and not ur makeup.

Not all girls wear SO much. I'm not sure whether you are a guy or a girl who prefers to go au naturale, but I know I wear it because my face is not naturally pretty. Anything that allows me to have confidence when I'm out in public is okay in my book. I'm sick of this question.

Mostly TEEN girls wear so much make-up. They think it's cool, and they think wearing eyeliner and mascara makes them look HOT, well news flash, it doesn't. I wear make-up sometimes, but not much. I'm beautiful just the way I am, and every girl should think that.

Because social standards make girls insecure about their looks, and looks are easily changed with the help of makeup. Most girls go overboard, though, and end up looking like prostitutes.

first of all not "girls" but some girls wear too much makeup.
Some of them do it because they are ugly and they think by wearing so much makeup they look cute and others do it because their self esteem is very low. But not all girls do!

I don't wear that much make up. The only thing I wear is base, to cover any yucky things I want to hide, and mascara to make my eyes look pretty. :)

I think alot of young girls, wear it trying to look older. Then when you get older you may wear it to try & look younger. I never ware makeup. oh maybe once in a while to see if it dose make me look or feal fancey...

i think they just wanna cover all their imperfections, they dont feel good about themselves. so i guess the answer for them is to wear a lot of makeup. i say them cause i dont wear fake-up.
